1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit our platform. In addition, we use similar browser storage technologies (Local Storage and IndexedDB). All of these technologies are subject to Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); this policy therefore covers them together.
2. Legal basis
We use strictly necessary cookies and storage on the basis of Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG; the associated processing of personal data is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR (providing the platform, secure sign-in). All non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) are used exclusively with your consent pursuant to Section 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Without your consent — or if you reject them in the cookie banner — these cookies are not set.
3. Necessary cookies and storage technologies
These entries are required for the operation of the platform and cannot be disabled:
• __mc_session (cookie, first party): keeps you signed in and enables shared sign-in with the Interview Coach on our subdomain. HttpOnly, lifetime: 5 days.
• NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, first party): stores your selected language (German/English). Lifetime: 12 months.
• mc_cookie_consent (Local Storage): stores your decision in the cookie banner so we do not have to ask you again. Storage period: until you delete it.
• Firebase Authentication (IndexedDB): stores your sign-in state locally in the browser so you stay logged in. Storage period: until you log out or clear your browser data.
4. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Tag Manager itself does not set any cookies. We use Google Consent Mode v2: before or without your consent, the storage of analytics cookies is disabled.
• _ga (cookie, Google): distinguishes visitors. Lifetime: up to 2 years.
• _ga_* (cookie, Google): maintains session state. Lifetime: up to 2 years.
5. Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising (conversion tracking). The provider is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA; Meta is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• _fbp (cookie, Meta): distinguishes visitors for advertising purposes. Lifetime: 3 months.
• _fbc (cookie, Meta): stores that you arrived via a clicked Meta ad. Lifetime: 3 months.
6. Managing and withdrawing your consent
On your first visit, we ask for your consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw or adjust it at any time with effect for the future: simply open your . You can additionally delete analytics and marketing cookies that have already been set at any time via your browser settings, where you can also block cookies in general.
